toy cannon

It is not the intent of this website to include plastic cannon, there are too many, and they are not old.  Honorable mention, however, goes out to the LegoŽ company for their fine plastic cannon,  the CorgiŽ company of Great Britain, for their circus cannon, Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus for their Sparking gun / cannon and the Shing Kee Toys Co. Ltd. for their Bubble Blowing cannon.  All are great toys.

Lego introduced different cannons to go with their building block themes.

Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus Sparking Gun / Cannon

What fun! These cannon guns were sold during the 60's & 70's.  When the trigger was squeezed, sparks could be seen in the yellow plastic window. There are at least three variations, one type makes a clicking sound also.

They also came in green.

Most of the wooden toy types were meant to be played with by younger children. These often contained a spring /plunger to propel marbles or peas.  Somme were designed to "pop" corks.
