Carriage: 4142 Pre-hardened Alloy Steel with over 250 custom-made nuts, bolts and rivets.
Chassis sits at a precise 3 degree forward inclination as per original specs.
Implement hooks are individually blacksmithed.
Functional Eccentric Axle raises and lowers Upper Carriage just like original.
Base: Robust Red Oak Base with thru-bolted, Alloy, Pintle Pin to handle the shock
of Recoil. Traverse-Circle Tracks (4 segments) joined with 45 degree splice as
were the originals. Green felt applied to bottom to prevent scratches to furniture.

*Robert Parker Parrott was a former West Point graduate and ordnance officer named In 1836. Parrott resigned his rank of captain and went to work (40 years) for the West Point Foundry at Cold Spring, New York. He perfected the rifled barrel and a companion projectile.
1860: Patented a method of attaching the reinforcing
band on the breech of a gun tube.
1861: Patented 10 pounder followed by 20
and 30, 100, 200 and 300 pounder guns.
By the end of the Civil War the Parrott gun was being used extensively by the
North & South.
