A customer acquired an early 12 gauge "Strong"
barrel and wanted a carriage made for it.
We modeled the cannon from another "Strong" cannon shown
below.
The hammer had to be fixed to the elevation mechanism so that it would
always hit the firing pin regardless of the angle of the barrel.
A customer acquired one of those cast iron lawn decorative
cannons and wanted to be able to "fire back" at the local
yacht club. We created a heavy steel insert with a 3/4 inch
bore that was slid down into the original barrel and then secured.
We then calculated where to place the vent (fuse) hole and drilled
through both barrels and inserted a brass insert.
If you have one of these cannons, don't fire it as it
is!
A ship modeler wanted cannons that could be actually fired
by remote control. The muzzle of the barrel needed to be realistic
as it would protrude out the side of the boat. The rest of the
barrel and the glow plug firing mechanism would be out of view. We
also provided a test stand for experimenting with the cannon. This
is a on-going project.
