Hi' thanks for one of the best 4th of July I had in a long time.! I purchased 1/8 5o cal. barrel off of you a few month ago and built a carriage for it, I shoot it off all day on the 4th, my father could not believe that such a small cannon could roar so load, and be so much fun! thanks for having such a great store, I wanted to buy the 1 inch barrel off you for the 4th but do to finical problems, I had to stick with the 1/2 inch barrel, now I'm back to work and looking forward to getting that 1.inch off you. thanks again!! George

My custom made cherry carriage Herreshoff cannon arrived today. It us a real beauty -- and just in time for the 4th of July!
Many Thanks.

The cannon arrived here today. It is FABULOUS!! I'm really thrilled.
I'll send you a photo when it's done. Someday when you're really bored
drop me a line regarding the load you used in the video on the web site;
i.e. granulation, grains, and wadding if any. As your text says, it is
really awsome!
Thanks, BOB

(1 inch bore field cannon)

Hi...I am just making an enquiry as to how much a human cannon can be purchased for..second hand ...and ...new
What sort of distances can one be pushed/achieved through them? Height in flight etc
What sort of size are we talking about?
What about landing options...
How are they mounted.. on what.. what sort of repercution [?] is there...etc
Please send as much info . as possible, please.
How much experience does one need to become a human cannon ball and perform safely.

(One flight?)

HI" I got my barrel Friday the 8.5 inch I could not believe how nice it was! I checked some cannons out at the local army & navy store a few month ago, and every one I seen looked like real junk. and where made in china, and the crome was chipping off them! they where half the size of the barrel I got from you, and they wanted $200.00 bucks for that junk!! ( thanks very much!! ) looking forward to ordering the bigger one!
GM

what is the cost of a fifty foot role and do you know if this fuse will lite a model rocket engine .

sincerely,
A concerned buyer

P.S. does this fuse burn in different colors

Thanks for a great kit! My son shoots the thing constantly (we live out in
the country). He's shooting 1" pure lead balls that I made a mold for and has
excellent results. He has found that 7 to 8 grains of FFFg black powder will
hurl a ball about 15 feet up and about 20 feet out. We play a game to see who can
hit inside a hoola hoop. Just so you know, 25 grains and a lead ball is a
serious blast!!!! It'll chuck that thing out of sight! Thanks again.
(York Town mortar kit)

i want to buy a fuse about 30 feet long and i live in vermont can i have them if i live there. and i didnt see any order forms

(..click on the "Load your Limber button"...)

Where can I get a device that you put the spark plug into? I don't know
if this is what it is called.

I have a home made mortor that I'd like to fire beer cans in. This
carbide sounds just right. I can't get a firecracker to do it so I'd
like to try this. What do I put the spark plug in? You got something and
can I attach it to the flash hole?

Any info would be appreciated.  Tnx,   AM

Hello,
I bought a 1 11/16 cannon ball mold from you. Yesterday I cast up a
dozen balls and shot one. Rather impressive results!

I was looking at your large mortar. Is there anyway that I can get a
drawing of the barrel?

Thanks, RL

Cannon-mania, I just want to thank you for the fast service.I received the cannon
right on time.
Thanks, W

P.S HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

...thank you for the break on shipping.  The carriage is really a nice item.  I don't have a
digital camera yet however I will have someone come over and take pics of the cannon on the old carriage
and the cannon on the new carriage that you built. The new carriage looks very impressive!   I will be
placing an order for 8-guage brass shells and plastic 8-ga shells within the next month.
Thanks again, MM, Virginia

Hi cannon experts,

For a show planned in May 2004 I am looking for a human cannon, buy or rent.
Do you have, or can you build such a machine? and if yes, what are the approximated costs? I need the machine in Vienna, Austria.

please contact me at...

(Cannon-Mania provided some contacts in Europe.)

I  received the cannon Wednesday.  The repair/replacement work on the absent pieces was very
good, and I look forward to getting it mounted and speaking soon.  Thanks again for a fine and timely
service. - Bert

(Cannon-Mania made a firing pin for a antique cannon)

Thanks for your note.  It arrived via UPS this afternoon and it is beautiful.

We've been out of business all day due to a fire four blocks away that
took out all the DSL and phone lines, or I would have gotten back to you sooner.

This is a cannon ball from the Spanish Indian Wars in Northern New Mexico during the 1500's.  I am interested in what it is worth. I have heard it is worth upwards of 1-2 million dollars. I have attached pictures. It is about 55-60 mm diameter. The Smithsonian said it was very rare and wanted it to be donated.... But the money would be a lot nicer in hand. I am investigating this for a friend who found it on his property in the mountains/mesas of the rocky mountains. I appreciated any comments you could add. I thank you in advance.

(... I don't think it's worth quite that much.....Cannon-Mania)

Just received the first shipment last night.  Looks Great!   I know he'll love it.  (Maj N.)

DEAR CANNON MANIA, MY NAME IS M. G.  AND I WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE OF YOUR SMALLER CANNON KITS. THE PROBLEM HOWEVER IS THAT I WORK IN KUWAIT. IS THERE ANY WAY I COULD HAVE A KIT DELIVERED HERE? IF IT WAS DECLARED AS A MODEL KIT INSTEAD OF CANNON THEN I WOULD BE WILLING TO GIVE IT A GAMBLE! ANY SUGGESTIONS? YOURS HOPEFULLY, MARTIN.

Should there be any problams to be anticipated in shipping cannon to Vermont addresses?
Thank you.

The Winchester arrived today.  Everything I had hoped for.
Thanks again. John

Kit arrived safely in Scotland.
UK Customs appeared to have searched it closely, probably to see if the touch-hole had been drilled through.....  Kit looks splendid quality.
Many thanks, Regards, C. O.

Hello,

I love your site, it is really neat. I have a son who is only 4 years old and a HUGE pirate fan. We just recently built him a play set which he call's his pirate ship. I am looking for a cannon (that does NOT shoot) that I can mount on the railing of his play fort. Do you carry anything that might work for this purpose? Can you point me in the right direction to find such an item? Thank you in advance for your time and attention in replying to this email.

Thank you,
S.B.

Received the order and I am very happy with the product...
Thanks....
(A.K. received his  Black powder no. 8052 after a several month wait)

Thanks for the cannon. It has exceeded my expectations and was well worth the wait!
My friends can't get over how good it looks. They seem to hang around it and worship it.

(J.F. received his 22.5 inch cannon on the new field carriage)

We just wanted to thank you for publishing a most informative website.  Your attention to detail and safety recommendations is outstanding.  It is interesting and written and illustrated in a manner such that it is easily understood by all.

Just got the Yorktown  a few minutes ago, thx. It's very impressive.

P.G.  (3/4 scale 10 gauge field cannon)

cannon arrived! drop dead gorgeous! WHERE do I get
fuses for both cannons? Also still want larger cannon we discussed!

I PERSONALLY SUGGEST THAT YOU CHECK YOUR REFERENCES AGAIN ABOUT CANNONS.
FIRST OFF ANY THING THAT CAN HAVE A POWDER CHARGE BEHIND IT IS DEADLY AND
NOT A TOY.  YOU ARE SAYING ANY THING THAT HAS 3/4" DIAMETER OR LAGER IS
NOT A TOY.  YOU CAN KILL SOME ONE WITH A BB IF IT HAS A POWDER CHARGE
BEHIND IT.  SECOND, BRASS WAS NEVER USED IN CANNONS BECAUSE IT IS TOO
SOFT OF A MATERIAL.  THIRD, CANNONS THAT HAVE A BREECH LOADER ARE NOT
CANNONS AND THEY MUST BE LISTED AS A DESTRUCTIVE WEAPON.

SO IF YOU DON'T WANT SOME ONES FIVE DOLLARS OR THEIR HEAD, THEN I SUGGEST
YOU TAKE THIS FREE ADVICE AND CHECK YOUR INFORMATION AND RESOURCES AND DO
SOME MORE STUDYING.  AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST CORRECT YOUR WEB SITE.

              THANK YOU

(They didn't place an order..)

Great Balls of Fire, those cannons are loud!  I will be sending you pictures of
Molly Pitcher with the field and yours truly with the Naval  ASAP.   Good thing
I have authorization from the Harbor Master and the Police Department because
we made some noise.  Car alarms were going off for blocks.

Just got back from vacation and the measurer was here. Thanks for the prompt service and keychain!!

I got my cannon today and it came through beautifully.  Thanks for the extra goodies and the extraordinary care you took in my order.  I will certainly recommend you highly to any of my friends interested in making noise.

I received my two cannon kits yesterday, these are the new ½" bore field cannon with the cast aluminum carriage and the bronze barrel. I drilled the vent holes and put both together and saluted one of them. It has a really great report and they look wonderful. I will be prepping them and painting the carriages and finishing polishing the barrels. One will be a gift to a nephew, the other will be a part of my group of cannon. Thank you I could not be happier. Thank you DCA

The cannon and shells just arrived as promised!

It arrived and was worth the wait!  He'll love it.
Thanks so much. Jama Parker

I recently purchased a Yorktown Mortar kit and have had a ball assembling, shooting and displaying it.  When the budget permits I'll be buying another kit, sure hope you'll add more functional black powder kits, they are fun.

I want to thank for developing and printing - web site information about the uses and misuses of firing a cannon.  Your site is very informational and well written.  For a woman learning about cannons, black powder rifles and shooting loads it is written in clear and concise matter.  We think it is important to share with the consumer not just information to sell a product but also for teenagers and adults to know about the dangers of not using the correct equipment or size.  In collecting, reading catalogs and informational materials about cannons, yours is the first that I had found to provide as much information.  Keep on doing what you are writing about, you are on the right path.

You have a fantastic web page. I am a cannon collector on a small scale.
I have just come across a Strong 10 guage that is missing the lanyard
pin. There is just the threaded hole under the firing pin. Otherwise the
gun is origional and in good condition. It belongs to a friend of mine
that wants to sell it to me. Do you know if it is possiblle to aquire
the missing part  ?  What would be  a fair value for the cannon? I hope
you can help me.

Last month I sent you pictures of my cannon project that incorporated the
barrel from my Winchester 10 ga signal cannon and a navel carriage you had made for me.  Q: Did you get them ?
I would like to thank you for your help.  I keep the finished project on my boat in Maryland and its quite the attention getter ~~ especially when I fire it off.

After hunting for awhile I found what I was looking for in your web site,
thanks I've been looking for an explanation of this cannon what it was for,
when it was made, and it's approximate value. Anything you can provide would be of great use and greatly appreciated.

Do you guys sale any barrels that can fire?? But just a barrel??
