Cast bronze trunnion caps - A Cannon-Mania Exclusive

1.  Blank casting

No holes for bolts, no opening for trunnion

 2.  Machined

Bolt holes (round or slotted) and 1/2 trunnion diameter  machined into cap

 3.  Polished Includes machining,  grinding, sanding 

Bolt holes and 1/2 trunnion diameter - then ground, sanded and polished for a finished cap

1.  Blank casting
    You finish these the way you would like - The castings are fairly clean, very little, if any grinding work is required
2. Machined 
    Bolt holes are added along with the opening for trunnion (1/2 of your trunnion diameter) 
3. Polished  This option has temporarily been removed.  (Includes machining as above plus grinding / sanding / polishing.   These are completely finished and will look very nice on a well made carriage.

Please be sure to specify your trunnion diameter when ordering machined options in the "Special Instructions" section of the order blank.  Except for the extra large size, the caps can be machined for your specified diameter.  (We assume the trunnion cut-out will be 1/2 of the trunnion diameter).  Be careful with your selection.  Even though the medium size will work for trunnions up to 1.25 inches in diameter, you may want to order a heavier trunnion cap a size or two larger as it may fit and look better on your carriage.  I suggest making a mock up from foam or cardboard to see how the sizes below will look on your carriage.

 Extra large - These will work for trunnions 2.5 or 3  inches in diameter (not smaller!).  Note that bolt holes are slotted only.

The "blank" pair are cast at 2.5 inches, only a little sanding may be required.

First quality, expertly made cannon wheels.  These are sturdy, top-quality wheels constructed of solid hickory spokes and bent-fellows, tightly fitted around sturdy hubs. All the wheels have steel tires, and the hubs have steel bands. Two steel cleats are added to the fellows.

24 Inch diameter

This solidly built wheel is constructed to exact specification of the large artillery guns and can be used for scaled versions of various guns.

1/4" by 1 1/4  steel tire, 3/4 inch dish.  The hub is 4" by 5 3/8" with 4 steel bands.  Bore bushing I.D. is 3/4 by  5 3/8".

Scale 30 inch diameter - Rugged

These wheels are built from solid hickory and built to use. Accurately scaled 30" cannon wheel , 4 metal bands, 1 1/2" wide steel tire, Hub length is 6 3/4". 5 1/2" diameter. Bore is  3/4". The wheels have 3/4" of dish.

38 inch diameter - Mountain Howitzer

Authentic replica wheel with solid hickory 2 inch spokes and bent wood felloes.  This heavily dished wheel has 1/2 inch by 2 inch steel tire.
