Phil
Williams (CA) was nice enough to send a video of his 12 inch, 50 caliber
cannon firing. What's interesting, is the 2nd video clip of the
cannon firing a projectile through a chronograph which measured its
speed as being 811 feet / second (553 mph). Click on the two files to the left. |

At the test range with cannon
buddies. This is where we test fire cannons, perform sound tests, do
demonstrations and well,... just plain have fun!
This my homemade 1" bore cannon that I use 1"
rubber balls for shot. The barrel is made from baldwin steel and is
18" long and weights about 20 lb.. We got this shot last summer on an old
shooting bench out south of town. Hope you like it. Thanks, your
site is the best.
(I envy Tom's firing range...... )
